| The goal of Special Friends Inc. is to initate or support programs that enhance the lives of people with disabilities and their families. Some of our current projects include: * CHIPPEWA PALS is a young adult/adult recreation and socialization program open to people with special needs aged 16 and up. Activities are scheduled two evenings each month. Come for food, fun and support. Contact Rose Marsh 715-726-7908 or 1-800-400-3678 or e-mail RMarsh@co.chippewa.wi.us * Sponsoring workshops and in-services on education, community living, futures planning and legal issues for the benefit of the families or caregivers needing resources and guidance. Parents and caregivers may request reimbursements prior to attending informational in-services. * Bowling and Roller Skating are sponsored through out some Chippewa County School Programs for children with special needs. * Contributions are made to many local groups and organizations. Special Olympics, Birth to Three, SPOT's House, Friends of Jesus and Chippewa Valley Autism Society are just a few. * Parent Matches are available to parents of newly diagnosed individuals. We extend support, friendships and information. * Camperships (limited) financial assistance for those with disabilities to attend the camp of their choice.
